Born in Brampton and educated in Conestoga Public School, Robert H. Lagerquist Senior Public School and Heart Lake Secondary School, actor and bassist Michael Cera splits his time between Los Angeles and Brampton.>

He began his career doing commercials as a child, and then enrolled in improv classes with The Second City Toronto before being cast in Arrested Development.

His star on the Arts Walk of Fame was unveiled in 2014 and continues to showcase Cera’s early accomplishments in his artistic career.

​Born June 7, 1988 in Brampton, Ontario and educated in Conestoga Public School, Robert H. Lagerquist Senior Public School and Heart Lake Secondary School, Michael Cera splits his time between Los Angeles and Brampton. He first came to major public attention when he was cast as George Michael Bluth in the critically acclaimed comedy series ‘Arrested Development’ (2003). After the cancellation of this series, Michael successfully transitioned into movies, scoring starring roles in various projects such as Superbad (2007), Juno (2007), Youth in Revolt (2009) and as the eponymous hero in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010). Since he also sings and plays guitar and bass, he was able to contribute mandolin and backing vocals to the Weezer song ‘Hang on’ from their album Hurley and to tour as bass player in Mister Heavenly, an indie rock band originating in the American northwest.  He also played bass and sang back up during songs featured in both Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Honours and awards include #1 ranking on Entertainment Weekly’s ’30 Under 30’ the actors list (2008), winner of Future Classic Award for Arrested Development (2003), Breakthrough Artist Award for Juno (2007)and Superbad (2007), Chicago Film Critics Association Award for Most Promising Performer for Juno (2007) and Superbad (2007), Canadian Comedy Award for Best Performance by a Male – Film for Superbad (2007) and a Satellite Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, comedy or Musical for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010). Michael has also been nominated for more than a dozen other prestigious awards during his career to date. ​
